In Community

At Forgotten Angels the lives of people with disabilities are transformed through enrichment activities like daily worship, volunteering with local non-profits, cultural events and exercise & leisure.

A “budding” cottage industry powered by angels!

Green Angels Farm is located at 3309 Industrial Drive and consists of 100 yards of raised accessible herb gardens.  Our Angel farmers work together with volunteers and staff to create a “budding” cottage industry which produces delicious lemon balm and mint teas along with dried herbs such as oregano, thyme, mint and varieties of basil.  You can purchase our herbs and signature Green Angel Teas anytime at  Forgotten Angels Resale Shop.

Forgotten Angels is grateful to Joel Hokanson, United Way of Brazoria County, Home Depot, Living Earth, Johnny’s Selected Seeds, Lansdowne Moody, Keep Pearland Beautiful, the Community Garden, the Lowrey Fund of the Community Foundation of Brazoria County, TJ Maxx, Treadwell Electric and Target for their support and guidance of this project.  We are also grateful to the many volunteers who have worked so hard, like our Eagle Scouts and Girl Scouts, and local mission groups.

More about Forgotten Angels

Forgotten Angels Foundation transforms the lives of people living with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities – at home, at work and in the community.

Forgotten Angels was founded in 2001 by Renee McGuire, a Pearland business owner, to help friends who were struggling to find appropriate services for their adult children with disabilities.  In 2011, Forgotten Angels Foundation partnered with Unified Care Group to provide foster care and Home and Community-based services.  Today, Forgotten Angels Foundation provides specially designed homes and facilities, as well as recreational, educational, and vocational opportunities for more than 100 individuals with special needs.

For Pearland and the world beyond to embrace the active and meaningful participation of people with special needs.

Forgotten Angels Resale Shop – Volunteer opportunities include sorting donations and preparing them for sale, merchandising, maintenance, cleaning, sorting donations, coordinating clothing drives, assisting Angels on their workdays and other  as needed.

Green Angels Gardens / Horticulture Program – Located at 3309 Industrial Drive, the garden includes raised accessible vegetable beds and herb beds. Volunteers are needed to help in planting, maintenance and harvesting of vegetables and herbs. Most gardening activity occurs from 8:00am until 11:00am Monday through Friday with special planting/maintenance days set up on Saturdays periodically throughout the year.

Annual Christmas Party – Each year Forgotten Angels holds a Christmas Party for our Angels. We need volunteers during the event, food donations, or you can sponsor an Angel as a Secret Santa, purchasing two gifts.  Please consider one or more of these short-term opportunities which have such a big impact for our Angels.

Forgotten Angels Day Hab – We welcome volunteers of all ages to come assist with various classes and vocational training offered at this location where the Angels spend their workdays. It’s a great place to give and receive the kindness of a friend. Various special events throughout the year also require extra help and volunteers help make it all happen.

Volunteer opportunities are flexible and can be set up according to your schedule within the hours of operation for each site or event. Community Service hours are available as long as the deadline for completion is at least 30 days out.
